American Apparel Apparently

Regular readers know that while we love, love, love to shop around here, we do NOT like to pay full price for things…ESPECIALLY mass produced clothes from national chains.  The last full price purchase from a chain was probably one of the striped sweaters from J.Crew that everyone had in 8th grade.  That’s why when there is a sale, we get really excited!!  And this weekend, American Apparel is having an 85% off flea market sale at the Atlantic Station location.  Oh no they de’ent!!  Right?!  See you there!

When: Fri. & Sat., 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
Where: Atlantic Station, b/t 20th & Market Sts., West Midtown.

Virginia is for Lovers

“Virginia is for Lovers,” the advertising slogan, was introduced in 1968 and has been one of the most successful tourism campaigns of all time.  Originally, the agency came up with qualifying ads: “Virginia is for History Lovers,” “Virginia is for Beach Lovers,” “Virginia is for Mountain Lovers.”  This approach was eventually discarded as too limiting, and “Virginia is for Lovers” was born.  The first year that the slogan was introduced, travelers spent $800 million in Virginia. By 2004, that number had increased to more than $14 billion, making Virginia the tenth most popular tourist destination of the fifty states.  Get your VA gear here
