The Error to End an Era

Lots of fun trends for Spring 2011.  From big bangles to preppy accessories to trench dresses (who knew?), there are tons of ways to keep ourselves entertained and taking pictures of ourselves in dressing rooms with our cell phones.  Oh please, don’t act like you don’t do it.

One trend we aren’t digging?  These high waisted flare jeans.  Yes, we know that our love affair with tall boots and skinny jeans is a bit disproportionate to the rest of the population.  Yes, we know that some men (Dr. Love) have reservations about skinnys.  But honestly, skinny jeans are probably on my list of the 10 best things to happen to me in my twenties (yes, red wine is on the list too – duh winning!).  So, trendy readers, you can have your high waisted flare jeans!  We’re on our third pair of J Brands with no plans for change.

Skinny Jean Upset

We have long been a devotee of the Julie Skinny Jean from True Religion – it even made our favorite things list!  However, Champion 3.5 stars, Challenger 4 stars – there is a new fav in town.  J Brand skinny jeans are amazing!!  We love the dark denim – the way they hit slightly above the hips – the bunched legs.  You put them on and think “Yes!” a la Herbal Essence commercial.  If you haven’t tried them yet – we fully recommend.

Jeans for Fall

We love the trouser from Banana Republic.  It’s no secret we love our skinny jeans (and thanks for all the confirmation that skinny jeans aren’t going anywhere), but here is a fun alternative from BR for $98.  To see more of their fall denim trends, click here.

Favorite Things #12: Julie True Religion Jeans

Let’s face it, it’s not the days of our mother’s blue jeans.  Can you say, Levi who?  And yet, it’s not the 80′s anymore either, when Guess made the designer choice easy.  Jeans are a very personal thing.  Every woman has their own beautiful bod to size, but we’d like to tell you what denim we love.  It’s no lie, we love some True Religion blue jeans.  You can’t describe it, but when you know you know.  And when we put the dark skinny “Julies” on our legs, we knew we’d found our match.  So we can’t tell you what to do – jeans obviously aren’t like coffee, but if you are in the market for some denim, Julie by True Religion are our favs.
