Fun day Friday fun category! Nothing like getting a drink with Reader Melby after work on Friday. However, for whatever reason, it’s sort of hard for us to think of different places to go for a glassa wine. We don’t want to go somewhere that the Bert Show is doing a live broadcast (re: Tin Lizzy’s or Fado), and we don’t want to go somewhere so chic and expensive that you feel out of place in your afterwork, mascara smudged getup (the St. Regis). So we always end up at Treehouse. Over and over again. So, help us help you, and let’s hear YOUR suuggestions for after work cocktail.
Our favs (other than Treehouse): Holman & Finch for wine / cocktails and Five Seasons for beer. Holman & Finch has delicious apps and a cozy atmosphere. The wine list isn’t super extensive, but there is plenty to choose from, and the wait staff knows what they are talking about. Five Seasons is a fun brewery, sports bar-ish pick, and anything with an unstairs deck is fine by us!

As we mentioned yesterday, lately we’ve struggled to find elaney inspiration and we need some new angles! So for the rest of this week and next Mon / Tues, we are kicking off elaney Restaurant Week!
How It Works: We pick our favorite ATL restaurant by genre and then we open it up to you to weigh in.
Today’s Genre: Sushi
Favorite Sushi Restaurant in ATL is an easy pick, because while ATL has plenty to choose from, we think most are either average (Genki) or waaay to expensive for sushi (MF Sushi Buckhead). Harry & Son’s in the Highlands is the clear choice. Consistently good food and reasonably priced. The restaurant feels like a fun night out to dinner (good atmosphere), but it doesn’t break the bank. Plus…it’s delicious! First runner up is Wasabi, super chic in Castleberry Hill.

Perhaps it is due to living in NYC, but nothing stresses us out like trying to pick a restaurant for a group of out of towners. We just want it to be perfect! The wine to be smooth, the food to be flavorful, and the atmosphere to be innovative and awe-inspiring. You want to leave with everyone saying “Oh elaney, I just loooove your city, and your taste – just divine!” Tonight, Readers ct, Mo, g-love, and Lucy will be gracing ATL with their presence, and we just cannot pick the restaurant. Abattoir has too much meat and Woodfire Grille is booked, so it’s down to Wisteria and JCT. Wisteria is Southern Gourmet (like that idea – so ATL) and JCT is the BEST atmosphere. What do you think?!
