“elaney, I thought that Jake that was kicked off the ‘Bachela-ette’ was so cute! How do you think you could meet him?!” -eMum
It’s bach! As you all know, The Bachelor is our favorite reality television show. And while like Shakira’s music, every one is pretty much like the other one, we still love it (“Whenever, Whereever” it comes out). So tonight is the big season premiere, and our DVR has been set for weeks. We’re happy to see that blondes are back in the Bachelor / Bachelorette franchise (even though our man Jake “On the Wings of Love” Pavelka is a little much. Hopefully he’ll make good TV. Way to get “Find men in 2010″ of to a good, festive start! What do you think – are you tuning in or tuning out?

“If reality TV has shown us anything, it’s that you can’t keep people with no shame down.” – Liz Lemon, 30 Rock

After many, many hours watching Lauren Conrad evolve from a scowling high schooler with huge white sungless to a scowling twenty something with huge Gucci sunglasses, we’ve decided to say goodbye to The Hills a few episodes early. For years, we’ve defended the honor of LC, Brody, and the gang. When others complained “it’s not unscripted,” we said “who cares?” When others complained about Spencer and Heidi, we said, “nobody’s perfect – or has perfect facial hair” but the past few episodes have just been so boring and lame, that Monday nights are making us lament The Bachelor and pull out our library books. We value eloyalty at elaney, but if you can’t keep elaney interested in beautiful people in LA on a reality show – you may have a problem. Sayonara old friends! What to you think – over it?

After DeAnna visited and maybe (or maybe not?) said she wanted to get back together, we thought we were faced with another build-it-up-don’t-deliver Bachelor finale. But late late last night…our little hearts were shocked.
Coming from the girls who can no longer watch sitcoms, because nothing holds our attention like the paradoxes, neurosis, and contradictions of real people…we believe, yes – reality TV has indeed gotten too real. We honestly tossed and turned last night – trying to think of any scenario that is okay to break up with someone on NATIONAL TELEVISION – and there is simply not one. How can you be so cruel??? Our only hope is that that was written into a contract or something – it’s just so not okay.
Melissa kept her chin up for the most part, and she pulled off muttering profanity under her breath. For a full recap, click here. And what about cool, confident Molly just taking him right back?? So lame. Are you tuning in tonight for Part 2? We know we are going to watch tonight – but we’re kind of disgusted with ourselves. As well as looking at this picture of Jason. We know you have your opinions ladies – let’s hear what you thought.
