For a purse, Reader Isa has been using a black diaper bag that looks like a cooler and has pink mongrammed initials on it for the last 8 months. As we frequently tell her, she’s lucky that she’s devastatingly beautiful and able to get away with these antics, but it’s been 8 months, and even Gwyneth Paltrow needs a nice handbag. Reader Isa’s emum has tasked us with finding her the perfect everyday bag. Based on what we know about Reader Isa, we think it needs to be classic, able to go with anything, not seasonal (face it, she’s not going to change it out), perhaps have an air of country / South Georgia-ness and not black. It needs to be sophisticated, but still able to give off the “I’m not trying and I’m totally unaffected” look. Budget: $300.
Here’s what we found (but it’s overbudget, of course), so we need your help finding something for Reader Isa that she will buy and will love!

First Kate Spade had a huge online sample sale, and now she’s got cute clutches marked down. Shopping Addicts are officially loving this recession. Time after time, we’ve been dressing for dinner, spraying our perfume, and thinking “if only we had a nice, classy little clutch. Something simple, yet stylish, subtle, yet noticeable.” Check out this cute little gray alligator skin clutch from Kate.

There is something redeeming about big bags and sunglasses. The exorbitant prices feel a little less offensive, perhaps because you get a litle more material (?). It’s like you’re getting a little more what you deserve. In fact, every now and then, we think to ourselves, “You know what would make us feel better (assuming the frivoulous trip to Target has not worked)…A really big bag.” Try this one by Antik Batik – $200 off.

LA Designer Melissa Eva is having an online sample sale – purses and bags up to 70% off! Ahh….if the words “sample sale” make your heart beat faster, does it mean you have a shopping addiction? If purses and bags are 70% off, does it really matter? Last minute Christmas gift to yourself!
