Project Runway

Are you going to watch or runaway?  We’ve been unsure about how we felt about PR moving to Lifetime.  Lifetime kind of weirds us out.  And reminds us of that kind of blanket on the sofa on Roseanne.  But last night, Reader Isa reminded us of the debut.  We didn’t watch but about 10 minutes (thank you Lord for making our lifetime during DVR), but we think it’s going to be a winner!  Tim Gunn is just so so great.

You Can't Be Rude to Tim Gunn

So, opinion.  Despite not being very entertained by Project Runway this season (where is Santino imitating Tim Gunn when you need him), we watched the finale.  If you haven’t seen it, you may want to stop reading – spoiler alert.  And here’s what we think: Kenley’s collection was absolutely amazing.  Almost breathtaking.  We don’t even care of she ripped of Alexander McQueen – that wedding dress was unbelievable.  Yet, she didn’t win.  And we don’t think she should’ve.  That girl had the worst attitude of anyone ever on the show.  You can be mean to the other designers – but you cannot be mean to Tim Gunn!  Even though we agree with the judges’ decision, we think Kenley’s collection was best.  So what do you think?

Project Runway Moves to Lifetime

Ugh.  This is no good.

Lifetime makes us feel like wrapping up in the sweater-blanket that sat on the back of Roseanne’s couch and drinking chocolate milk and eating ding dongs (and we don’t even know what ding dongs are).  We can’t believe the network inked a deal with PR.  Lifetime is the gray sweat suit of television, and what could be less fashion forward than that?

In an estimated $150 million deal, the Weinsteins say “you’re out” to Bravo and NBC Universal and move to the land of needlepoint and old maids.  The only good news is that the deal includes 5 new cycles of the show, but we don’t even know if we will still be watching it.  Are you allowed to wear avante garde clothes on Lifetime network?  Is the president going to demand that all models wear panty hose on the runway?  Eek.

Obviously, the folks at Bravo are not happy with the Weinstein Company (the producers of PR) and have filed suit.  Hopefully they won’t be able to get away with this fashion faux pas…  Here’s to the big(ger) guy winning!

So, what's up with Michael Knight these days?

The end of Proj Runway 4 got us thinking. What’s our Season 3 favorite doing? We loved seeing Michael deliver challenge after challenge. Even though we hated his final collection, he’s a fellow Georgian and he made hot pants cute, so we still love him. Well, he’s back in the ATL working as a freelance designer under the name Mychael Knight (no explanation given for the sort of confusion name thing), and he’s designing for celebs like Eva Diva from ANTM. He’s got a new fragrance coming out called Majk (again, he likes weird spellings), and you can check him out at www.mychaelknight.com.*

Project RunYEA!!!!

Tonight is the night. Who will it be??? We think that Christian is the runaway favorite. His vision is unique, and the dress he made in the avant garde challenge (that Chris later ripped off) was inspiring. We hope there is major drama and a little more excitement in the final runway. Past seasons have not succeeded to make announcements with enough drama. Heidi is a litle dainty to with her “You vin” (then crickets…). We predict Christian, Jillian, then Rami. We still wish we could see Kit in the finale and cannot believe that Sweet P and Ricky outlasted her. Boo. So who do you think will take it this season?
