Nope, it’s not elaney’s secret recipe. It’s our new discovery – elizabethW bath products and fragrances. elizabethW was actually the grandmother of the current president of the San Francisco company, Albert Wightman. Albert was inspired by his grandmother’s ”spirit of determination and independence [that] went hand in hand with her romantic nature and classic elegance.” Sounds like the 1800′s version of the elaney woman for sure. We have the Sweet Tea soap in a silver dish by our sink. It’s lovely (even for those not actually named “elizabethW”).

Halle Berry had a little girl. Fun, fun, but old news by now. However, we are still waiting for our favorite part! What will the baby be named?!? Will it be something weird and unique? Will it be a shout out to old Hollywood (like Harlow)? Will it be boring like J.lo? PLEASE no more Maxs (or in this case Maxines). We can’t wait!

Freakonomics, by Steven Levitt and Steven Dunbar, is one of the most interesting books we’ve read in the past year. Part of the book is about names and the impact they have on a person’s life. They say names climb through the echelons of society. Dunbar and Levitt included a list of names they predict will be very popular in 2015:

Are you into names?

I am. And I found the most interesting tool for tracking the popularity of names through time. My nickname, Laney, was the 483rd most popular name in 2006 and not even on the list before 2003. Yet my real name, Elizabeth, is very common: #9 in 2003 and consistently in the top ten since the 1800′s.
