Hit Me Gleeks One More Time

It was once said, “I know God loves me.  That’s why we have coffee and wine.”  However, today we can only teem with gratitude as two of our favorite things in the world come together tonight!!  Britney Spears + Glee = ALL IS GOOD IN THE WORLD.  ”I must confess, I still believe!!”  Apparently, they even work it in the the script that Will Schu is not excited about it, after he made the real life “Toxic” comments about the Britney episode.  ”Hey Readers, you say you want to lose control…” Are you as excited as we are?!

If You Aren’t Watching, You Need to “Bust a Move”

So, regular readers know, here at elaney, we are obsessed with Glee.  And by obsessed, we mean listen to the music all day, sing along, dance in the car, dream about it…it’s pretty much all Glee all the time (“And there ain’t nothing I can do about it,” – “You Keep me Hangin On”).  But before you get all “Hate On Me Hater” about it, “Imagine” the beauty of having a soundtrack to a 60 minute TV show be the soundtrack of your life.

First of all, something interesting is always going on.  It could be a bad “Bust Your Windows” situation, but even on days that you feel that life “Gives You Hell,” you “Don’t Stop Believing” that something good is going to happen.  Plus, all the episodes wrap up with nice enough ending in 60 minutes which means that even if “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” (re: be a famous Broadway star), you can at least “Take a Bow” and call it a day.  So Glee, and Gleeks, we at elaney just want you to know that “My Life Would Suck Without You.”  And we thank you, thank you for allowing us to show our “True Colors” and give into our love for the high school musical days.

Life as a Gleek

co-worker bff (with slight disdain):  ”elaney, are you okay?”
elaney (with subtle teardrops in eyes):  ”yes!  listening to “Imagine” and “True Colors” from the Glee soundtrack.  Can’t wait for tonight!!”
co-worker bff:  ”Okay, well you might want to get it together…”

Come on now, who can listen to this and not want to save starving children and make the world a better place?!  We didn’t discover Glee until that fateful rainy Saturday in January, and Glee is hands down the best thing to happen to 2010.  Maybe ever.  Yay for tonight!

On Second Thought…

Maybe it was better that elaney was never granted the beautiful voice she always longed for in high school.  If the number of times doing drive-bys with Reader Isa and singing “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child is any indicator, this could’ve likely been our past realized…so, what did everyone think of the premiere?!

WELCOME BACK GLEE!!!

So Lost Without You

Forgetting about the Season Pass on Glee until two weeks ago has been the greatest thing to ever happen to cold Saturday and Sunday afternoons.  After watching Glee for six hours this past Saturday (before ultimately going to bed at 8:30 – and then sleeping for 12 hours), we’ve successfully mastered the art of having glorious pop songs from past and present pop into our head.  For example, any time we see something we like / want, we hear the lyrics from “Alone” by Heart.

A sample of how it works:

See Louboutin…“Till now…I always got by on my own…”

See Haitian orphans: “I never really cared until I met you!”

Go running in January: “And now it chills me to the bone…”
