Check out this DVF “Shalom” dress. Hello to royal purple and short lengths, goodbye to no waistline that makes you look plump (or in this case, like a plum). Dresses like this are so tempting, as you imagine then sparkled up with gold jewels and tall heels and on the NYE dance floor. However, like NYE, this dress looks like it might over promise and under deliever. What do you think? Does the “Shalom” mean ‘hello’ or ‘goodbye’?
Michelle Obama’s choice last night drew mixed reviews, but not from the elaney staff meeting as we all cooed over the gorgeous ecru one-shoulder gown. The dress is by 26 year old Jason Wu, known in the fashion world but certainly not a big name. ”I love that she chose Jason Wu,” said Constance White, eBay style director. “She’s educating the public about American fashion, and she’s introducing new names to the American public.” Some were disappointed they didn’t get to see more of Obama’s Ocurve-a’s, but we think she looked amazing.
