“You can have whateva you like. You can have whateva you like…” – Anya Marino, folk cover of T.I.’s hit***
There is nothin’ we love like whipping out a new spring dress when the air is still a lil chilly. And it’s so timely – now that we’ve discovered folk covers of hip hop songs, we’re really into pairing two things that aren’t supposed to go together. Red wine and shrimp. Spring dresses and cool air. Open toed boots. Hip hop and folk singers. Having a new spring wardrobe and not being completely broke. You get the drift.
So what are some cute spring work / day dresses that don’t break the bank? Banana is kicking off the new season with some cute ones. Here’s a do, and a don’t.

Don’t: No waistline = no go.

Style.com is reporting that sheer materials are big for Spring 2010. We kind of think it looks like Britney Spears became European and got an office job. What do you think? Will you be incorporating sheer into your wardrobe?

We could listen to people say “is it bad?” all day long. We love that phrase, because it’s always people asking it about stuff that doesn’t matter at all. “Omg is it bad that I wore flats to work?” ”Is it bad that I spent $15 on dinner on a weeknight?” ”Is it so bad that I only had 32 ounces of water today instead of 64?” Uhhh, nope. Really not that bad. You’re not quite the rogue you thought, buster!
But when we look at this ensemble and Marc Jacobs dress, we can’t help but ask, is it bad that we love this look?!? It doesn’t even make sense, but it’s so cool. This girl looks chic and confident. “Go it girl.” (eMum, eGrandmum, and eGreatgrandmum’s fav thing to say). What do you think? Is it bad? Or is it so bad…it’s good?

Okay, so the Emmy’s were awhile ago, but we can’t get over how people are raking Leighton across the coals for her grandma dress! We love it!! What do you think?

Summer makes us feel a little more free with our clothing choices. We tend to get lax on blowdrying our hair and hear the calling of the college hippie skirts still in our closet (no, eMum we do not still wear them. yes, you’ve mentioned what you think about them. yes, we’re sure). Perhaps it’s summer that’s made these Mexican Tunic dresses peak our interest. Normally in the battle of tu-nic, or not tu-nic, we believe in waistline-waistline-waistline! But these Mexican Tunic dresses kind of make us what to Mex it up. What do you think?
