Kim Kardashian Kraziness

We don’t really like the Kardashians. They were pretty entertaining when their show premiered, but then the show got so fake (anyone remember the episode with Kris (Jenner, that is) bought a chicken coop so they could have organic eggs?). However, anyone who has a $500,000 wedding complete with 3 Vera Wang dresses is going to get some attention from all of us at elaney.  UGH!  We don’t want to wait for the photos from People (although since the Humphries banked $2.5 mil for the photos, we imagine that they will be guarding them pretty closely).  Here’s all we have for a photo so far (TMZ).   (BTW, we hate princess ball gown silhouettes and think they are only appropriate for 19 year old brides).  Also, what to we think about the headdress?  (Actually, kinda like it…for someone like Kim.  Not your typical roommate-in-college bride look).  For more on how Kim turned her wedding into a business, read here.

Hey Britney

If emum taught us how to love cardigans, Britney Spears taught us how to love celebrities.  Gone are the days that Reader Isa and elaney were making up dances to the “Oops I Did It Again” video in the living room, but our love for the snake handling, head shavin, gum chewing, former Musketeer lives on.  And when we heard about this Britney Spears’ tribute at the VMAs, we couldn’t be more excited!!  After Madonna presents her the Lifetime Achievement award, this will be the performance…we can hardly wait!!  What about you…will you tune in?

Selena Gomez – “…Baby One More Time”
Katy Perry – “Oops!…I Did It Again”
Janet Jackson – “I’m a Slave 4 U”
Demi Lovato – “Toxic”
Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj – “Gimme More”
Lady Gaga – “Circus”
Britney Spears – “Hold It Against Me/I Wanna Go”

Hey Gaga_v2

It was fun.  You really impressed us with the number of black bikinis you have.  And how you aren’t afraid to play the piano while wearing a bikini.  And of course, all the other things you did that emum probably wouldn’t want us writing about.  We’ll drive out to the Gwinnett Arena for you anytime.

Okay. This is the last one. But so good.

With all the “winning” that Sheen has been doing, Meyers took the opportunity to launch into a segment of “Winners/Losers.”  Favorites: his comparing Denise Richards to someone who sold her house in 2007 and “parents of porn stars who aren’t living with Charlie Sheen” for having something to be proud of their daughters for.

#WINNING

Yes, elaney has rebranded and our new focus is…Charlie Sheen?  What is the world coming to, but it cannot be overlooked how hilarious this whole “winning” hashtag epidemic is.   Seems that it can be used interchangeably with the much beloved R & C Woolfolk’s “Is that pretty good?”  However, you have to have an additional level of creatine-meathead-ish confidence to say it.  So what’s the word?  Anything you feel like you are #WINNING today?  Or are you refusing to drink the tiger blood Kool-aid?

Charlie Sheenanigans

This isn’t what we wanted to post about.  However, as a pop culture / entertainment blog, we feel that we have no choice but to address this situation.  Not sure what parts to highlight.  The “goddesses” (er, porn stars) living with him?  His calling himself “awesome”?  His complaints about being tired of showing modesty?  Saying that he thinks his kids should be proud of his behavior?  Calling himself “bi-winner” (rather than “bi-polar”)?  Not really sure what to say. He looks horrible…what do you think?  Are you captivated by the Charlie Sheenanigans or are you totally icked out?

Oscar Sunday Funday

While watching the Miss America pageant no longer makes us want to be among the company of 18 year olds (of appropriately evenly distributed ethnic backgrounds) with spray tans and bikinis, the Academy Awards will and always will make us want to be a movie star!  We wanted to love our girl Anne Hathaway (classiest young star by far), but we have to say, her hosting with James Franco was kind of awkward.  First of all, James seemed to have the charm of an 8th grade boy at Sunday lunch with his grandparents, and Anne was just a little too giddy.  Eek.  We still love her though, and she looked gorgeous (and really, who cares if you don’t do a great job if you look gorgeous).

Favorite dresses of the evening were Sandra (so classic and tasteful) and Cate Blanchett (love the structure and the little risk!).  Also loved Gwyneth.  Our worst was Scarlett (when will these people learn that the Oscars is not a place for patterned flower fabrics?!).  What did you love / hate?
