Emmy’s Best Dressed (and Worst)

Ah award shows. Ye know not what thee do to us. Like the Miss America pagent (even in our late twenties), there is no way we can watch you and not wonder, ‘can we one day stand on that stage’?!? Our picks for favs are Claire Danes and Lea Michele (so cliche to pick the girl who loses a lot of weight recently, but what can we say, Rachel Berry looks absolutely gorgeous). Our girl January Jones, aka the most beautiful woman in the girl, is really so breathtaking she can do no wrong, but this dress was a little much for us. It reminds us of what we feel like emum wants to say to us, “Can’t you just be normal?” We know that this will be controversial, but we thought Heidi Klum’s dress was so obvious it was kind of lame (you’re A-List Heidi, no need to stoop to get attention), and we have to give worst dressed to Christina Hendricks. You are wonderful, but this dress does nothing for you. Thoughts?!?

Once upon a time, this blog started out as mostly a celebrity blog. We know. It’s hard to believe now that elaney is filled with such cutting edge breaking journalism, but it’s true. Long ago, there was a whole lot of Shiloh and Suri up in here. Oh how times have changed, but even a few years later, our girls have just celebrated their fourth b’days, and they still just slay our hearts. So, how about it, for old time’s sake, who is your favorite? Suri or Shiloh?

We’ve all had them. We’ve all been them. The truth is, you can be the sweetest, kindest, most innocent girl in the world…and unfortunately, you still have a cup of crazy in you. In middle school, it seemed that all the Frenemy moves has to do with three-way calling, and lately, we’ve had a few people confess that as a bridesmaid, they kicked their own kickboxed booty to be skinnier than the bride (oh no she de’ent…)!!! So brave readers, please do share….what’s the best frenemy move you’ve every heard?

However, there is nothing more polarizing for an US Weekly loving, nail painting, E! News watching, Neiman Marcus sale rack perusing woman than…Angie v. Jen!! We’ve all picked a side by now, but every time another person we think we can count on breaks our Jen An lovin heart (Reader Kenny), we remember that this debate will never be settled. Two questions for the ladies: 1) who do you like better and 2) who would you rather look like? Fellas – feel free to weigh in too.

Only Love You More With Age

We’ve written in the past about how online celebrity rags were beginning to replace our love for US Weekly. In retrospect, that was just a low point in what might be…a life long love. Since trying to quit buying them (after essentially buying 3 tabloids a week in college), the reading every week has stopped. After all, one can only spend so much time sitting on the floor at Barnes and Noble. However, something about spring and US Weekly go together. Have to admit….have bought 3 of the 4 last four issues. Can’t. Get. Enough. Sandra and Jesse!! US Weekly, you are amazing. In a plane, by the pool, in bed, even on the floor of Barnes and Noble…thanks for being you.

Blind-sided. First Danny Zuko. Now this. Call us crazy, but we thought that Jesse James and Sandra Bullock were the real deal. She just seems so “dateable,” and he just seemed all happy to have a smart, hot wife. Sigh. How weird is it that the Academy Award is the curse of the marriage? Sandra (btw While You Were Sleeping is an all time favorite movie) joins the ranks of Kate Winslet, Reese Witherspoon, Halle Berry, Hilary Swank, and Julia Roberts as actresses who’ve separated soon after Oscar gold. Sad. This isn’t can’t-get-out-of-bed-on-Thanksgiving-when-Nick-and-Jess-announced-their-separation-Turkey-Day-2005, but this is a pretty big heartbreaker. Surprised?

We have to be honest, Kanye is starting to get a little Janice-Dickinson-starved for attention. Which is sad considering that Janice Dickinson is ridiculous and Kanye is actually talented. So we think this whole Taylor Swift stunt is stupid. What do you think about it?

Speidi Reacts

In a way Paris Hilton was never fascinating, Speidi is once again making headlines for being famous for being famous. After a heated (ish) interview with the Today Show’s “weatherman” (Speidi’s words), the couple is “fighting” back. And by fighting, we mean desparately seeking to stay in the press.
