Write After Labor Day; alt title, More “White” Girl Problems

Right after Labor Day, everyone wants us to write about one thing and one thing only.  Can we continue to wear white…?  Everyone always says it’s okay, but no one really ever does it.  We always make bold claims about how we don’t care what antiquated fashion rules say, but then whenever we attempt to walk out of the house in our white jeans, it just feels wrong (and you may note that everything generally feels pretty right about our white jeans, as we’ve pretty much had a love affair with them for the past two summers as evidenced by half of the recent pics of me on this blog).

Even Emily Post’s Book of Etiquette (17th Edition) says white after Labor Day is okay…but we’re on the (white picket?) fence.  In Georgia, summer ain’t going anywhere for awhile.  So help us ladies, what’s the white thing to do?  In the very least, check out these cute cropped Breton’s on sales.

Cheers to the Freakin Weekend

1.  So glad we have youtube.com so that this kind of useless creative expression can exist.
2.  emum, please don’t email about this post.  We don’t care what you say – it’s not a curse word, and it’s the name of the song.

Minnie Pants

We think we like these little “Minnie” pants in Italian wool from J.Crew.  Maybe because they have a bit of a Laura Petrie from The Dick Van Dyke Show quality, and we still love Mary Tyler Moore.  Thoughts?

It’s Good to Have People In Your Life to Keep You Humble

elaney (after lamenting something she said that she shouldn’t have):  ”I mean, do you think I’m ever going to get my mouth under control?”
Reader g-love (deadpan):  ”People don’t really change.”

elaney (calling for the second time):  ring, ring, ring
Reader Mo:  ”Laney, for the last time, if I don’t answer, it’s because I don’t want to talk to you.”

Friend Who Wishes to Remain Anon:  ”He’s cute, but I’m not sure if he has enough facebook activity for you.”
