We’ve been counting down the days until we can wear white dresses, jeans, and shorts, because with Easter being late this year, we came dangerously close to tossing our South Ga upbringing rules to the wind. However, we’ve finally made it to the white window of Easter to Labor day, and we are celebrating with a little online shopping! Check out these cute Tory Burch white jean capris that Reader Ellie first introduced us to in Puerto Rico!
Generally, on my 50 minute ride home from work, I force either Reader emum, g-love, or Mo to listen to all the thoughts that have gone through my head in the 24 hours since our last conversation. Yesterday Reader g-love was the lucky winner, and I casually mentioned that my iPod Genius mixes seemingly don’t go together (Teen Pop, Indie Rock, and Urban Crossover).
However, Reader g-love countered explaining (and I was sort of surprised to hear this) that I was “one part perky / happy / free spirited, one part intelligent / thoughtful, and one part “oh no you de’ent.” Which, as I think about it, is perhaps true…so here is what we want to know. What does you iPod Genius mix say about you?
It was fun. You really impressed us with the number of black bikinis you have. And how you aren’t afraid to play the piano while wearing a bikini. And of course, all the other things you did that emum probably wouldn’t want us writing about. We’ll drive out to the Gwinnett Arena for you anytime.
So, in the past few days, I’ve literally heard 4 of my short list of bffs say that they are completely obsessed with Kate Middleton and can’t get enough of her. I will not give away any of the identities, but a few sample comments: “I feel like I hate myself and everything about my life because I am not her.” ”I want to stop eating and start smoking to be more like her.” (BTW, last night Lady Gaga told us you don’t have to be thin to be beautiful – yet she’s definitely a size 0). This Kate M obsession sounds like the kind I might have before all I did was work all the time, but now that my Us Weeklys are backlogged and my daily rendevouz with e! news seems like a thing of the past, you have to help me understand….what is it about Kate Middleton that you love??
Sidebar: In reseaching this topic, we discovered that she’s allegedly designing her own dress. It will have an essence of the Renaissance period, and the reportedly ivory, satin and lace frock will include a “nod” to the Emanuel wedding dress donned by Princess Di along with pearl button detail and a 10-foot-train.
Hey Lady G, What’s up? Can’t wait to meet you tonight. Do me a favor and wear your meat suit. I think it’s really funny. You can recognize me because I’ll be the preppiest person in the audience, but I will go to Party City 30 minutes before the concert so I look like one of your “Little Monsters.” See ya soon! Love, elaney
Nothing like having a new song to play on repeat when you are running. We’ve got three: Britney / Rihanna Remix of “S&M,” Florence & the Machine’s “Dog Days Are Gone,” and The Avett Brothers “Head Full of Doubt.” Help us make a spring playlist! What are yours?
The Avett Brothers played a free concert after the Braves game yesterday. elaney’s last concert experience at Turner Field was Dave Matthews the day after high school graduation, and this one was on my 28th birthday.
Things that were different between the two experiences:
I did not start crying due to some drama between girls related to a boy.
I did not have on a halter top.
I did drink beer (2).
I did not talk about fat content in stadium food.
I uploaded a “gametime” picture to facebook.
My sunglasses are not from Target
Things that were not different:
The main reason I like the band is because it’s a cool one to like at the time.
My skirt was still too stort.
We listened to mmmbob on the drive there.
I said “like” between every word.
I have the most wonderful friends and have had all sorts of wonderful friends all through my life. What a blessing!
