Sometimes in life and beauty products, we have to choose between what we want and what we need. $76 SkinCeutical Eye Cream = Want. Pretty, pearly white teeth = Need. And now, you can get what you need at the price (and convenience level) you want! Try Crest’s new 3D whitening toothpaste. It really whitens in 2 weeks flat without the annoying strips or any $300 price tag. Plus, it takes fresh and clean and baking soda infused.
Those of us who were Facebook early adopters (ahem, haters at unnamed schools similar to say, Ole Miss (Reader jennbug) and UGA (Reader shawtygetlow)) remember the days when Facebook was “thefacebook.com.” We remember the days when silly groups were still funny, when there was no Newsfeed, heck we remember when there was no wall!! Even with our intimate knowledge of thefacebook.com’s rise to power, we were skeptical about The Social Network, as movies that capture recent events always seem to tank (think W). But so far, reviews are holding strong at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes! What do you think – are you going to see it?
It was once said, “I know God loves me. That’s why we have coffee and wine.” However, today we can only teem with gratitude as two of our favorite things in the world come together tonight!! Britney Spears + Glee = ALL IS GOOD IN THE WORLD. ”I must confess, I still believe!!” Apparently, they even work it in the the script that Will Schu is not excited about it, after he made the real life “Toxic” comments about the Britney episode. ”Hey Readers, you say you want to lose control…” Are you as excited as we are?!
Friday morning…how we love the so. You can just smell the potential in the air. It’s like a class of Harvard freshman every week. Fridays always make us feel a little fun and frivolous, and today if we could have a new item, this is what it would be! Celebrate a happy Friday with us and let us know what’s top of your wishlist this top of the weekend.
Almost a year after it’s October ’09 opening, we finally tried the hottest pizza place in town. Even though Varasano’s is nearby and The Kind Pie was great (but sort of sketchily closed), we decided it was time to check out what every food writer in town is talking about. And we have to say, (for a pizza place that doesn’t deliver) it definitely delivered!
Antico is located on a random corner on Hemphill with a view of the Ikea in the horizon, but the pizza is literally straight out of Italy. Not only is the place completely packed, but people are yelling in Italian, opera music is blaring, and the eat-in-the-kitchen communial seating makes you feel like the hills of Tuscany (rather than Atlantic Station) are right outside your window. The crust is just soft enough, the sauce is the right mix of sweet and savory, and all the ingredients are straight from the homeland. They don’t take substitutions, there are no side salads, the line is atrocious, and when we told prorpietor that we had never been before, he demanded in a thick Italian accent that we try a piece right then, standing up at the counter. This BYOB place is fun and hands (tossed) down, the best pizza in Atlanta.
Oh Jay, look how far you come. We remember the Vandy days of hanging out with you at Sportsman’s and even post college when you’d show up at weddings ready to play (see below). Now you’re dating Kristin Cavallari!! If only we’d followed through and you’d actually given us that signed football that we could now sell on ebay. Nevertheless, we love you Jay! You will always be a Commodore in our hearts (but please stay away from Speidi).
Living in ATL, we’ve had a little more exposure to the “brewery culture.” Not only with the fellas from Monday Night Brewery, but also from the great local flavors like Sweetwater and Red Brick. While we wouldn’t call ourselves a beer maid, we think we’d fall into the category of sophisticated palette, but still in the very “for the masses” way (let’s not get crazy!). Our pick for best beer for the second tier is DEFINITELY ATL fav Sweetwater 420…what’s your reco?!
