It’s time for us to say goodbye to Rainbow flip flops. Now, we’re not saying it’s time for you. It’s sort of a personal decision. It’s not a certain age that you must say goodbye, more of a feeling. And we woke up this morning knowing…it’s time to say goodbye. So what to wear instead?! Here are some ideas:
Cute, but with all the functionality of the Rainbow (for daytime errands): $98

More function, less style (for wearing to spin class before slipping into spin shoes): $179

For the more stylish flip flop moments (when trying to look chic at the Cloister pool): $49

Yesterday at church, as soon as I saw this group of kids assemble on the stage, it was apparent that there would be no holding this one together. The kids were from Bright Futures. BFAtl’s vision is to search out, assist, and build long-term relationships with single parents and adolescent youth from the inner-city of Atlanta. The goal is to end the cycle of poverty, violence, unemployment, and low self-esteem, through social change and education.
While listening to them sing the words of “Our God,” I was humbled and overcome by the faith of these children…these beautiful children with their eyes closed and their arms lifted in worship without an ounce of fear on their faces. When I listened to them sing the words, “And if our God is for us, then who can ever stop us…,” my heart ached to have that kind of childlike faith. If they can have that much faith, please Lord teach me to!
The Bright Futures website references everyone’s favorite facebook.com Bible verse, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” It was so neat to see that lived out in such a real way. Thank you sweet Bright Future children for being so encouraging to me!

We actually wrote this post a few weeks ago but noticed it was as boring as the everyday facebook status update. ”at the gym.” ”watching tv.” ”having some lunch.” Okay…thanks for sharing…? However, work has been crazy…so here’s our totally uninteresting post.
One thing we love about summer, specifically the beach, is coming in for the late lunch after a day out in the sun. And there is no perfect sandwich like the fresh in from the beach, can still feel the breeze, smell the salty sea air, sandwich.
So here it is. Our perfect sandwich:
Bread: Toasted whole grain bread from Masada bakery.
Meat: Real turkey from the turkey
Condiments: Boar’s Head Mustard Delicatessen, a tiny bit of mayo
Toppings: Avocado, eGranddad Buddy’s tomatoes (sliced thick), Lettuce, Sprouts
Cheese: Provolone
Yep. Told you it was lame. Feel free to share your own perfect sandwich. Or just find a more interesting blog.

Look, not trying to say that the writer of this blog is always the smartest girl in the room, but we can call a spade a spade. And look who’s breaking up…
The story also mentions that Jake is currently in ATLANTA taping a segment of Drop Dead Diva. Huh.

Feel free to weigh in on last night if you feel so inclined. Decided to change my vote to cute runner Kirk.

Cult favorite Tom’s Shoes is now making wedges. What do you think? We wonder if the ONE for ONE rule applies to the kind of shoes you buy, because if so, we think every girl in a developing country needs a little wedge heel.
