How Would You Spend Your Extra Hours?
Posted by elaney intern: Reader Isa
Along the lines of my previous post, I recalled that I was not alone in my frustration with how quickly time passes. Here are a few famous people/bands that agree with me, and God’s response to all of us.
Time you ain’t no friend of mine. - Hootie and the Blowfish
I’m in a hurry and don’t know why. - Alabama
Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, Creeps in this petty pace from day to day – William Shakespeare
Be still and know that I am God. – God, Psalm 46:10
Here’s my question. Let’s say God did grant my request, and allowed for an additional 6 hours to our day! What would you do with your extra time? Sleep, read, exercise, work, clean, catch up on The Bachelorette that’s waiting so patiently for you on DVR?

I would read the “classics.” Considering I have a BA in English from UGA, it’s a little embarrassing how few acclaimed authors I’ve actually read. Especially b/c when I have time to read, I want to read something entertaining! So between my Sophie Kinsella and Chelsea Lately, I’m reading Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre out loud to Josephine when we walk.

I would probably shave my legs more than once every two weeks (is that TMI?), bake and make food from scratch, call & email the people I love more often, and conquer some of those things that have been on my “to do” list for like two years.

I would definitely do the fun projects on my to do list that never get finished – like scrapbooks and photo albums. Go on more walks with friends and cook!

Watch the 13+ hours of “Mad Men”, “Grey’s” and “Brothers & Sisters” saved until I delete on my DVR…been lighter fare lately, I guess.

Mad Men, Grey’s, and Brothers & Sisters…never seen any of those. Heard good things about all. If I had to invest in one, which should it be?

Definitely Mad Men. And it starts up again soon, so you can rent seasons 1 & 2 to catch up!
