Atlanta Shoppers Secrets

Atlanta Fashion Week was a bust, but retail commerce is still alive and well in the ATL.  There is no shortage of ways to spend your money, but let’s talk about ways to save!  What’s your ATL shopping secret?  Where have you been that you want to open a huge canvas bag and stuff as much as possible as quickly as possible into it?  We looooove you Ballard Backroom.  You are hard to beat.  Especially the one up 400.  Cheap, cheap.  We hear there is a great carpet place on Howell Mill…can someone shed like on the Highlands shoppers secrets?  Advice please!

  • Um… this is why I love atlanta! Home Goods is my fave for great lamps, kitchen stuff and occasionally great furniture. But I guess that’s not unique to Atlanta? I would have to say Filine’s Basement, the best for discounted bags and jeans! Nadeau, great (new) furniture. Lakewood 400 Antique Mall great for old furniture, jewelery, junk (but it’s in Cumming).

  • Scott’s antique mart!
PS. Em Em is the queen of this question.

  • Filine’s, Sage and the Market (smaller & lesser known- on Lenox Rd.) for clothes and Nadeau for furniture!

  • Love, Love, Love Hill Street Warehouse (right by Good Eats where Collier turns into Hill).

Be prepared to be in there for a “hot minute”…if you don’t know what that means you may need to ask urban gal Kate Hendricks.

  • Does anyone have advice on furniture deals in NYC? I wish there were a Ballard Backroom here!

  • Nadeau says it is open to trade only…can the public not shop here?

  • emily – you can definitely shop at the location in peachtree battle shopping center. cute furniture – reasonable prices.

  • You can definitely shop at all the locations, at least I’ve been to the one way out there past 285. I think it USED to be only to the trade… must be why it’s a shoppers’ secret!!

  • Savvy Snoot on Howell Mill. Browse and even if you don’t find just the thing you can feed your Taqueria del Sol habit.

  • Thinking so much about fish tacos I forgot to add: Savvy Snoot for local art and unusual consignment home furnishings.
