Facebooking the Facts

Are you addicted to Facebook?  Reader ct sent an interesting article.  We’ve never broken out in cold sweats, so we feel okay.  However, as an interesting note, there have been a few times when the staff has thought, you know what, this is probably becoming a little voyeuristic.  We’ve taken a two week to two month sabbatical and found it quite refreshing.  Nothing like a little self-improvement exercise to start off the weekend right.

Inman Park Festival

Regarded as the most electic and favorite weekend festival in the city, the Inman Park Festival starts Saturday and Sunday!  Inman Park is a great ATL neighborhood – come enjoy the art, food, music and fun of the locals and with the elaney staff!

Thistle Farms

“Into every product goes the belief that freedom starts with healing and love can change lives.”  Thistle Farms lotions, sea salts, candles, sprays, and more are created by the women of the Magdalene House in Nashville, TN.  Magdalene House is a rehabilitation center for women recovering from prostitution and drug abuse.  Started by Becca Stevens, Chaplin of St. Austine’s Chapel at Vanderbilt University, the Magdalene House seeks not just to help a sub-culture of women, but to change the culture itself.  Awesome.  Get their products here.

ZoWheees!

Zoes Kitchen has long been one of our favorite lunch spots.  Started in Birmingham, AL (see bham locale below – not original spot) – it spread to Nashville, TN just in time for us to fall in love with the chicken roll ups and Greek salad with grilled chicken…and the chicken salad…and the pimento cheese…and the chocolate cake!  It’s all divine, and now it’s in our beloved Atlanta, Georgia!  Located in Peachtree Battle shopping center, Zoes is perfecto for a girlish lunch or a casual dinner (the ATL location has beer and wine too).  Bon appetite!

Ask elaney…

One of our favorite features around here includes asking elaney any random question you have on your mind.  It started two years ago at the Christmas party, when we allowed the interns to each ask elaney one question (usually, they are not allowed to speak unless spoken to), and it was a huge hit!  So fire away ladies – what do you need to know?!
