Isn’t it crazy how we think we are all so original and then we stumble onto a internet personality quiz and have our entire personality shown to us five minutes later on a website with a pink background? Here’s a quick Myers-Briggs test. For a fun exercise – take the test, read about your personality type, and report back to us! eLaney is an infj - what are you?

We love Christmas, and we think it’s a shame when things get too busy and you forget to enjoy the season. Sub one month until the big day, so we like to make a list of fun things to do to savor the spirit. Some are original and some are old favorites, but it’s fun when you make an effort to do them.

1. Buy someone on your list a gift you really can’t afford. 2. Bake something for your neighbors. 3. Drink a Gingerbread Latte from Starbucks. 4. Wear tacky earrings to work one day. 5. Pay for someone behind you in line and then smile and say “Merry Christmas!” 6. Make Magnolia Bakery Cookies from scratch and decorate them. 7. Get a chocolate Nativity Calendar. 8. Light Advent candles on Sundays. 9. Listen to Christmas music in your car. 10. Take a cute kid to sit in Santa’s lap (or get a wild hair and do it yourself!!)

Consider it an advance warning. This is our first elaney Christmas, and we plan to fully blow it out (without blowing a fuse). One thing we love love love around here is LED Christmas lights. What is it about those big colorful bulbs? They have a blend of trend and nostalgia that we love (re: Old Navy puffer vests). They say to the world, “yeah, I’m cool enough for an apartment porch in Athens, Ga and classic enough for a Bloomingdales display window.” Pretty great combo, if we do say so. So put on your festive sweater, break out the egg nog, and settle in for an elaney holiday season.

You’ve probably heard that Speidi eloped. We aren’t sure what our opinion is. But we felt it appropriate to announce. So…congrats?
