I love it when a man kisses a lady’s hand. I think it’s very polite and innocent flirtation. On that note, I hate it when women get offended when men open the door for them. For goodness sake we need more gentlemen in this world, don’t knock them for it.

Have you ever actually seen someone get offended by that?

Question: when shaking a woman’s hand in a social setting, how should a man shake? In business settings, experience dictates that the slightly firm handshake works best, but in social settings? While hand kissing would be a nice start and a terrific way to flirt, it’s not exactly something one does to strangers.
On another note, the cheek kiss between male and female or two female friends (not necessarily close ones) is far preferable to the fake hug, and one wishes it were more common in the U.S.

To answer your question, we suggest the slightly firm handshake even in social situations. When a man shakes our hand and it isn’t firm, we feel like he feels weird shaking a girl’s hand, and that makes us feel weird. Best to just act like you’re totally comfortable with it.
Good point about the cheek kiss. Tres posh. We are going to try to take it mainstream. Is it always right, then left? Probably good to get that part down.
