Nicole "Are you KIDding me?" Kidman

We’ll say it.  We don’t think she’s pretty.  We think her little squirrelly mouth is weird.  Not just weird – also kind of scary.  And we don’t like her movies.  Name one movie Nicole Kidman has been in that is on your favorites list.  And Keith Urban?  Please.  Dear Keith, Are you trying to tell our achy breaky heart something with that haircut?  Thanks, Elizabethlaney.  Please media, focus on young Hollywood.  Bottom Line:  Down with the downunder couple.

UPDATE:  We love The Hours.

  • couldn’t agree more. although i am happy that she is having a baby as she seems to have lightened up a bit. I did think she was amazing in “Birth”. The scene in the symphony is amazing.

  • I will say, we’ve never seen Birth. She’s just a not as pretty Gwyneth Paltrow.

  • elw, you all at elizabeth laney must rent although don’t watch it with your mother…there a few steamy scenes but they are relevant to the film and not just gratuitous nudity/relations, but awkward nonetheless.

  • 1. i think she’s pretty
    2. did you miss cold mountain??
    3. is it bc she’s a red head??

  • Melby:

You are right Cold Mountain is good. However, Nic is still laaaame. Imagine Gwyn in that role, wouldn’t you rather see that?

We at elaney looooove our red headed readers.

  • wow…cold mountain…that had QUITE the steamy scene. and you do have to be a good actress to pull that off. but then again it was with jude law, so maybe not that difficult.

  • has she had too much botox? her face is always looks the same. but what about moulin rouge? the others? the interpretor?

  • fake in all the movies listed here. she, as a person, has always been pretty 1 dimensional, thus, her on-screen characters have been as well. unless, of course, we are judging an actress based on her ability to effectively pull off a steamy scene…

  • Erin, you’re right. The Others is a greeeat film, and her performance is awesome. However, I hated The Interpretor and Moulin Rouge was good, but I didn’t think her performance was spectacular – she just had a great part.

  • um, hello sean penn…prob the one celeb i would most like to have buy me a drink. he made that movie so worthwhile…such a bada**. but yea she was kind of a little too mysterious…the kind of too mysterious where it seems like she isn’t even acting.

  • No, Nicole is so AMAZING!!! I love her and she is a major role model in my life. Cold Mountain was pretty good and she is way lucky to have worked with Jude Law!! The “sex scene” in there was pretty intense. Imagine trying to make fake sex look like how Nicole made it look. I know I would have a hard time with that! My favorite movie of hers, though, is Practical Magic. Sometimes when I watch that movie I forget that Sandra and Nicole aren’t sisters. I also am in love with Sandra. She is such an inspiration and a good person, but Nicole in that movie showed a really awesome sexy side that totally took my whole family off guard. She was so pretty and young. I loved it, and she played an extremely good role that would be a hard one to pull off. Try making yourself be exorcized and make it look real at the same time. Also, the last scene of that movie ALWAYS makes me cry so bad. There is so much love and Nicole is the one that has to pull everything off making it look real. Even though she was so pretty in that movie, with the last scene she is all sweaty and makes it look really bad. That takes awesome acting skills. Also, have you seen the The Golden Compass? She made her role look so bad, like she actually was that mean in real life. That is a great kid’s movie and it is so cute. She has a really good role and she plays it off superbly. Also, i didn’t fully get the movie Moulin Rouge except that the ONLY reason I even turned on that movie was because she was in it. Even my mom said it was a bad movie but I still watched it because I say Nicole was in it. The Others is another movie that I almost totally forgot about! I have this movie and it is so amazing. Nicole plays such an intense role and her character makes everything seem so weird. The twist at the end was great but Nicole really pulled the whole thing off. Her talking about how the children were allergic to light really made me think about whether she was making it up for some reason. When she was in the extra bedroom on the second floor looking for the little boy, I was scared to death! I thought something was going to pop out at her and when she turned about the statue was there, I was hiding under my blanket! I don’t if it is just my ability to scare easily or what but that was an amazing movie! I also love the beginning part where she starts off the movie with a scream. I jump EVERY TIME. I love Nicole Kidman and think she is b-e-a-utiful no matter what age or movie she is in. Also, neither Nicole or her movies are one dimensional! I think that is a horrible thing to say because it is totally untrue and not fair. you really shouldn’t even be judging her! It’s so rude.
